With Bharat Bandh call given by very many political parties on September 10 to protest the rising fuel prices, the Odisha government went ahead and announced that all schools in the state will remain closed on Monday.
The announcement was made by none other than school education secretary P.K. Mohapatra.
He said that the measure is a precautionary one.
It need be mentioned that the Congress party has given a nationwide shutdown call on September 10 protesting the rise in fuel prices.
The Odisha unit of the Congress on Saturday held a preparatory meeting on the shutdown in the state.
It exhorted all its supporters and the general public to make it successful.>
