On Sabarimala temple row, heres what Mohan Bhagwat said

It is the second day of the Sabarimala temple opening and huge anti-women protests are ongoing.

But what is all the more crucial is the statement from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Bhagwat today pointed out that masses feel the Supreme Court judgment that allowed women into the temple did not take into account the long-held traditions.

He added that even majority of the women accepted these norms and beliefs.

Bhagwat said that the version of heads of religious denominations and faith of crores of devotees was not taken into account.

Bhagwat was speaking at the vijay Dashami event.

It need be mentioned that Sabarimala opened its doors to women yesterday following last month’s Supreme Court order.

The order struck down the centuries old ban on the entry of women of reproductive age but even then so far not a single woman has been able to set her feet inside.

Even the state BJP is supporting the shutdown and the Congress has not openly supported the bandh but has struck to the traditional view in its response to this issue.
