One farmer killed in Mandsaur Violence faced drug trafficking charges, another was a Congress member

Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh witnessed violent farmer protests, in which at least five farmers were killed. One among the five deceased farmers was allegedly facing cases of drug trafficking. According to the police he went absconding in a drug trafficking case. The police claimed that Kanhaiya Lal Patidar who was one among the decease farmers, was booked 4 times for drug trafficking and even went absconding in one of those cases.

As per information received, SP Manoj Singh on Saturday said that Patidar, 38, was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) several times. Vinod Kushwaha, Mandsaur Town Inspector, said Patidar was booked 4 times for drug trafficking between 2001 and 2011. In the first 3 cases, Patidar was granted bail. The cases were registered under different police stations. It was in the fourth case that Patidar was absconding. The fourth FIR was filed at the Neemuch Cantt police station.

The first FIR against Patidar was registered in 1994 at Narayangarh police station when he was allegedly caught trafficking opium. In 2004 he was caught with smack worth Rs 4.5 crore and a case was registered against him at the Mandsaur police station. Two separate cases were filed against Patidar in 2011 at YD Nagar and Neemuch Cantt police stations when he was allegedly caught transporting 11 quintal and 22 quintal poppy husk. Since then Patidar was on the run.

A sixth man who died after allegedly being beaten up by the police, was reportedly a Congress worker. The Indian Express has reported that the Madhya Pradesh Government has agreed to extend 1 crore compensation to the family of the deceased, Ghanshyam Dakad, in the recent protests across the state by farmers. Dhakad’s brother-in-law Laxminarayan, told a national daily that Dhakad was vice-president of local youth congress. Dhakad was booked for Vandalism at four-lane Jaora-Neemuch road on June 7.

MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was on an indefinite fast to bring back peace in the state. The MP CM recently broke his fast by consuming coconut water. The congress accused Chauhan of ‘Drama Politics.’ The most manipulative party of India is giving sermons to a CM who has been elected for a third successive time in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Any society owes a lot to the farmer. But the Congress is trying to give it a political flavor. And why won’t they? When they’ve actually manufactured the protests. One of their MLAs Shakuntala Khatik was even caught on tape asking the protestors to set the police station on fire. While the CM of Madhya Pradesh at least had the conviction to observe an indefinite peace fast, Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi has shown the ‘will’ to move out of the country and escape the responsibility.
