While the combat exercises are common for the forces across the countries, the Indian Air Force has announced one such maneuver in a bid to check operational preparedness against China and Pakistan.
The exercises have been christened as ‘Gaganshakti’ and will involve almost the entire assets of the IAF spanning over two weeks duration.
Among the objectives would include checking the day and night war waging capability of the force.
The exercises would be carried out both on eastern and western borders.
The exercises are slated to take place from April 8-22.
It is said that even Pakistan has been notified of the combat maneuvers as required under laid down protocol.
One of the aim is for sure is to ensure deployment of air power in a short and intense battle scenario.
The exercises will also focus on joint maritime air operations with the Indian Navy as well as with the Indian Army.
Whats all the more important is that the efficacy and integration of Light Combat Aircraft Tejas in the operational matrix of the IAF is also planned.
