Measles and Anti-Rubella Vaccination to be provided to children
Meeting of Health Department’s State-level Task Force held
September 10 will be observed as Worm Infection Eradication Day, and on this occasion a special vaccination campaign will be organized, where one crore 11 lakh children of age group 1-19 years will be given anti-parasitic medication.
Likewise, all the children of age-group 9 months to 15 years will be provided anti-measles and anti-rubella vaccination.
For this, a special campaign will be conducted for five weeks in August month. This information was provided at the meeting of State Steering Committee (National Worm Infection Eradication Day) and State-level Task Force Committee Regular Vaccination.
In the meeting, detailed discussion regarding time-bound programme for vaccination campaigns to be held in 10 aspiring villages of state under Mission Indradhanush was held.
Health Secretary directed the department officials to conduct programmes for providing anti-parasitic medication to children on National Worm Infection Eradication Day, on the lines of National Polio Vaccination.
For this, necessary support from School Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, Scheduled Caste, Tribe Department, Rural Development Department and other departments will also be taken.
Health Secretary also gave instructions to widely publicize about this mega-campaign to encourage participation and support of common people.
Likewise, He also directed the health officials to conduct special campaign for prevention of measles and rubella diseases. This special campaign will be conducted in all the districts of state for continuous five weeks from August 6, 2018 to ensure that every child of age group 9 months to 15 years is vaccinated.
It was informed in the meeting that in the second phase of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan under Mission Indradhanush, all the children of 10 aspiring districts of the state namely Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, Korba, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma, and Kanker districts will be provided vaccination for prevention of diseases.
On the occasion, officials of Health Department, School Education, Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Development Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, National Health Mission, Urban Health Mission, Women Child Development Department, Urban Administration and representatives of Kendriy Vidyalay, Navoday Vidyalay, Madarsa and private schools were also present.>
