Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’ to clash with Rajinikanth’s 2.0

Akshay Kumar’s Padman to have a Republic Day 2018 release.

Akshay Kumar’s PadMan which is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas, is all set to release next year.

The initial release date of the film was April 13, 2018, and now Akshay revealed the new date of the release. The film will now hit the screens on January 26, 2018.

Akshay tweeted the poster of the film in which he is seen riding a bicycle along the Ganges in Banaras. He said, “Not all superheroes come with capes! Bringing you the true story of a real superhero, #Padman this Republic Day – 26th January, 2018!” The tagline of Padman is The True Story of a Real Super Hero.

With PadMan, Twinkle Khanna turns producer and the movie is being directed by R Balki.

The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead role. The movie will also see Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo.
