Pak firing in Poonch results in soldier’s martyrdom, few others injured

Pakistan troops fired mortar from across the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The firing led to martyrdom of at least one Army jawan while four others including a lieutenant were injured.

It is said that the cross-border shelling by Pakistan troops started in Krishna Ghati sector and the firing went on for hours at stretch.

This led to injuries to the Army personnel.

One of the injured soldiers later succumbed to injuries at the military hospital.

Police sources confirmed that a lieutenant and two junior commissioned officers were among the injured and they were evacuated to command hospital in Udhampur district.
