Pakistan prisoner in Rajasthan killed, allegedly after brawl

Sketchy details that have emerged suggest that a Pakistani convict serving a life term in Rajasthan’s Jaipur Central Jail was murdered.

It was said that the murder took place allegedly by other inmates after a fight over TV volume.

It needs to be confirmed as yet.

Meanwhile, local sources have identified the person as Shakir Ullah, who hailed from Sialkot.

He had spent eight years in the jail and had been arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in 2011.

It was in 2017 that he was sentenced to life in prison.

Sources have suggested that as the fight escalated, the three convicts used a large stone and bashed Shakir Ullah’s head.

Senior police officers, a forensics team and district officials have rushed to the jail.
