Palestine lecturer killed in Malaysia, buried in Gaza; further sours relations with Israel

As the Fadi al-Batsh, a Palestinian lecturer claimed as a member by Hamas, was gunned down in Malaysia, allegation is being leveled on Israeli spy agency Mossad.

But the body has nonetheless been repatriated to Gaza and buried there.

Hamas, the Islamist militant group that controls the Gaza Strip, has claimed Batsh as its son.

Hamas has been vehemently leveled allegation that Israel’s Mossad spy agency may be behind assassinating him.

However, the Israel’s defence minister has said Batsh might have been killed in an internal Palestinian dispute.

Malaysian authorities said two men on a high-powered motorcycle fired at least 14 shots at Batsh, an engineering lecturer, outside his Kuala Lumpur apartment building on Saturday.

He was dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s deputy prime minister said the two suspects were believed to be linked to a foreign intelligence service.
