Kartik Aaryan’s latest release Pati Patni Aur Woh is on a roll at the box office. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles. Last week’s another release, Ashutosh Gowariker directorial film Panipat, is nowhere near the social comedy.
Pati Patni Aur Woh opened with an impressive amount of Rs 9.10 crore and went on to make Rs 12.33 crore and Rs 14.51 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. On Monday, it is expected to earn Rs 10 crore. Going by the initial collection of the film it seems it is going to cross RS 75 crore in the coming week.
Pati Patni Aur Woh is the remake of BR Chopra’s 1978 film of the same name. The original film starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in the lead roles. While the original film was criticised for being misogynistic, the remake of such film in 2019 was seen with a criticising eye. However, till the release of the film the makers maintained that the new film is not disrespecting to women in any sense and shows them in an empowered position.
