Panchayats, Panchayat Samiti Chairman, chairpersons of central and state cooperative bodies, presidents of centre/state undertakings and government servants cannot be appointed as agents for counting of any candidate

Chief Electoral Officer Shri V.L. Kanta Rao told that the Election Commission of India has directed that any person who has been provided security by either the Centre

or the state government on the day of the Assembly Election, 2018, besides the central and state ministers, ongoing MPs, MLAs, chairpersons of local institutions, Mayor, Municipality, Nagar Panchayat presidents, District

Panchayats, Panchayat Samiti Chairman, chairpersons of central and state cooperative bodies, presidents of centre/state undertakings and government servants cannot be appointed as agents for counting of any candidate.

Any person being provided security, election/counting agent under security cover cannot be agent for counting.

No candidate will be allowed into the counting centre accompanied by his security guard/armed security guard.

Such candidates will be admitted into the centre only after taking the consent letter to surrender his security of his own accord for entry into the counting centre without security guards.
