PM Modi mentions achievers from underprivileged families, in Mann Ki Baat

Noting how these are many instances of students who have shown determination & perseverance to overcome all odds and stood out to be beacons of inspiration to others

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentions several achievers from under privileged backgrounds during his Mann Ki Baat radio address.

Besides Prince Kumar of Delhi, whose father is a DTC bus driver, Abhay Gupta of Kolkata who studied on foothpaths under street lights, he also mentioned Afreen Sheikh of Ahmedabad, whose father drives an auto rickshaw.

Noting how these are many instances of students who have shown determination & perseverance to overcome all odds and stood out to be beacons of inspiration to others.

Nagpur’s daughter Khushi, whose father is a school bus driver, Karthik of Haryana, whose father is a watchman or Ramesh Sahu of Jharkhand, whose father is a brick-kiln labourer or Gurgaon’s divyang angel Anushka Panda, who suffers from a hereditary disorder called spinal muscular atrophy also found mention in PM Modi’s speech.

The Ahmedabad girl Afreen Sheikh felt quite elated at the mention from Prime Minister.

She termed it a major opportunity and how it is also result of hard work.

Sheikh is GSEB SSC Exams Topper and her father is an auto driver in Ahmedabad.
