India’s first 14 lane expressway developed by NHAI and Welspun Group will be
inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on Sunday, 27 th May 2018
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway (Delhi section), India’s first 14 lane green
Expressway under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Mod,
Honorable Prime Minister of India on Sunday, 27th May 2018.
This world class Expressway has been completed in a record time of 18 months as against the
scheduled 30 months by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Welspun Enterprises
Designed for speed up to 120 km/h, the expressway promises to reduce travel time
significantly from 45 minutes to 8 minutes resulting in reduced pollution, better fuel efficiency
and enhanced quality of life of millions of people on day to day basis.
The project consists of six-lane expressway in the centre, flanked by two four-lane highways on either
side – making it 14-lanes in total. It also boasts several first of its kind features in the Indian Highway
infrastructure like Vertical Garden and Solar Lighting , this green Expressway has created a new
benchmark to transform India’s road infrastructure at par with global standards.
Led by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Honorable Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water
Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation along with National Highways Authority of India,
