Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to shortly announce schemes for poor in a program to mark the birth centenary of Deendayal Upadhyay.
Earlier participating in the national executive meeting, Modi said that there will not be any compromise with corruption. He said that the government managed to solve the Doklam stand-off peacefully, and many were surprised by it. He also said that he believes in governance with public participation. Outlining his agenda, PM said that party is second, India is first. He also appealed BJP cadres to politically fight the ongoing tussle in Kerala.
Addressing a press conference later, Arun Jaitley said PM Modi hailed the BJP organisation for being the most active party in the country. PM Modi in his speech said democracy must be beyond election and public participation is key in the democratic process. He asked BJP leaders to make the party an instrument of mass participation to improve the quality of life of people. He said as long as political activists don’t take part in mass movements, it is hard to achieve success. Swacch Mision, Ujwala scheme were mentioned as ambitious projects needing mass participation.
