PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’; urges for people to plant saplings, observe Environment Day

In the radio broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to plant saplings on the World Environment Day and take care of it till it becomes self-sustainable.

He asked the people to observe the World Environment Day on June 5.

PM Modi also asked the masses to do away with low-grade plastic and polythene terming it to be having a negative impact on the environment, wildlife and the health of the people.

He pointed to the recent dust storms accompanied by rains and said that these were unseasonal.

Modi said that the climate pattern change led to the loss of life and property.

He said India was proud to host the World Environment Day this year, which is a major achievement for the country.

He said when the country speaks of climate justice or plays a major role in the Cop21 and Paris agreements or when it unites the whole world through the medium of International Solar Alliance, they all are rooted in fulfilling the dream of Mahatma Gandhi.
