POCSO committees now made compulsory in Cgarh schools

Concerned at repeated instances of attempted exploitation or abuse of children in schools or what could be understood by ‘Pradyuman’ like incident, the Chhattisgarh government has ordered constitution of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) committees as well as installation of POCSO boxes in every schools.

As per an order issued from Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission, schools would be mandated to constitute POCSO committee and also open up POCSO boxes as per guidelines to see if any complains have been put in. The constitution of POCSO committee has also been defined for educational institutions or schools across the state. The order is aimed at preventing child abuse and ensuring child safety in the schools as ‘Pradyuman’ like incidents shake the very roots of the society and never heal completely.
