Police nab seven of nine; accused of raping two girls for a fortnight

In another shameful criminal incident, it has emerged that two girls hailing from Koriya district in Chhattisgarh had to withstand ordeal of rape for around fortnight when they had been kept in confinement by nine men.

Police sources said that the girls are aged 15 and 17 yrs and were recovered from Bijuri railway station in Madhya Pradesh.

The victims belong to Jhagrakhand area in Koriya located on the border of Chhattisgarh and MP, informed police sources.

Police said that the main accused has been identified as Abhijeet Pal alias Pinku (20), who on March 4 itself took one of victims there. The accused already had an affair with,one of the girls while the other girl just accompanied them both.

The two girls were taken to a place in Khongapani and were raped.

Pal later had his friends over and they too took turns to rape them while confining them in Ledri and Bijuri villages.

This was also confirmed by the police.

The missing complaint had been filed on the morning of March 18.

Police have so far arrested seven of the nine accused.
