Police uncovers huge stash of bullets, detonators from Tamil Nadu village

The police said Edison, a resident of Anthoniyarpuram village, found a box of bullets while constructing a septic tank on Monday

In a major recovery, the Tamil Nadu police have unearthed a massive cache of of ammunition and explosives from a coastal hamlet of Rameswaram town.

The recovery of the cache was made on Monday.

It is yet to be ascertained as to who could have left behind such a stash.

The police said Edison – a resident Anthoniyarpuram village – found a box of bullets while constructing a septic tank on Monday.

The police team then dug out more than 20 boxes containing ammunition for different weapons.

They were taken aback to recover explosives, detonators and detonator launchers as well.

Police has begun probe and said that it has so far recovered 22 boxes, each with 250 rounds of bullets.

Police are now actively trying to probe whose could be this massive stash.
