Politics continues; Hardik Patel tweeted this to EVM machines meeting an accident
Even as Gujarat election results have been announced, the politics surrounding it has not died down.
This was evident after a truck carrying around 100 Electronic Voting Machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail units turned turtle near Bharuch in Gujarat.
While three labourers in the truck were injured in the accident, it was the Patidar leader Hardik Patel who took to tweeting a sarcastic comment.
However, this piece of information probably did not matter to Hardik Patel, who went on call it a ‘kaand’.
It was informed that the EVMs and VVPAT units were being transported from Jambusar to a warehouse in Bharuch town.
These units had not been used during the recently-concluded Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 but were in reserve (meant to be used in case any other EVM malfunctioned) for Jambusar constituency of Bharuch where polling was held on December 09, sources informed.
Upon learning about the accident, which took place near Derol village in Bharuch district, local police rushed to the spot and secured the EVM units which lay scattered on the road.
These EVMs were to be sent to other states where elections are due, administration sources confirmed. >
