Politics intensifies over murder of ‘Hindu’ lad in Delhi; heres latest
The murder of 23-yr-old Ankit Saxena allegedly over relationship with a Muslim girl has the locality in an uneasy calm.
But it appears that the politics is also picking up on this issue.
The opposition BJP has come out questioning the silence of the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party government in national capital.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, along with other party leaders, visited Ankit’s house and met his family members. However, nobody from AAP has so far made the courtesy meeting.
“Shocked and Horrified on cold-blooded murder of #AnkitSaxena. Culprits should be punished with the highest quantum,” Tiwari tweeted earlier in the day.
The BJP also demanded that the Delhi government should pay `one crore to the family of the deceased.
Ankit was reportedly set to marry a Muslim girl but her family allegedly objected on communal lines and ultimately killed the boy in rage.
Even as the arrest of the four accused have been prompt, Delhi police is closely watching the development so as not to allow any flare up on communal lines.
Several celebrities too condemned the murder. Actor-director Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “Horrified to hear about the cold-blooded murder of #AnkitSaxena in Delhi. And for what??? #shame Cannot imagine the grief his parents must be going through. My deepest condolences to them.
Actor Gul Panag posted a tweet saying, “While #Budget2018 has been distracting no doubt, the ‘relative’ lack of outrage over the horrific killing of Ankit is disturbing. Such perceived double standards don’t augur well for the larger liberal cause.”
