Prime Minister inaugurates rail service in North Bastar : Dallirajhara-Banupratapur passenger train launched

Farmers, students, commoners express gratitude

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today inaugurated historic railway line and passenger train in Adivasi-dominated North Bastar (Kanker).

Mr. Modi gifted the long-awaited link on the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of architect of Constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at village Jangla (district Bijapur) via video-conferencing. The railway track links Dallhirajhara district Balod to Bhanupratapur district North Bastar.

The line is part of the 235 kilometer rail project linking Dallhirajhara -Ravghat-Jagdalpur. Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated the citizens of the State while flagging-off the passenger train from Bhanupratapur-Gudum. With the inauguration of new rail line North Bastar (Kanker) is linked to Durg-Raipur directly.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi referred to this rail link at his mammoth public meeting at village Jangla and expressed his happiness over the rapid developments. The running of passenger train is manned by all-women crew.

The daughters are operating a train in Jangla-Station Master, loco pilot, guard and T.T are women. Thousands of people at the Bhanupratapur railway station cheered and clapped when Mr. Modi gave green signal to the passenger train.

The citizens paid their gratitude to Mr. Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. Industry Minister Mr. Amar Agrawal, MP Mr. Vikram Usendi, Bastar Development Authority vice-chairman Mr. Bhojraj Nag, MLA Mr. Manoj Mandawi, Secretary to State Government Mr. Sonmani Vora.

Also present were Collector Mr. Taman Singh Sonwani, Bilaspur Zone South-Eastern Central Raiwal General Manager Mr. Sunil Singh Sohin, senior officers, people’s representatives and large number of common citizens.

The citizens of Kanker and Nrayanpur districts will benefit from the new passenger train. Adivasi-dominated districts had been connected to the capital. Development of the region will be faster.

The long-awaited dreams of the farmers students and commoners had been materialized. Passengers will save time and money.
