Prime Minister leads BJP MPs to fast today; to protest Parl session washout

To protest the disruption in Parliament by the opposition, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the BJP Members of Parliament to stage ‘fast’ today.

Christened as the ‘Loktantra bachao Upvaas & dharna’, it began from 10 am and will last till 5 pm on Thursday.

Prime Minister Modi had announced of holding fast to protest the washout of Budget session in Parliament allegedly by the opposition.

The BJP workers were seen sitting at the fast at national capital’s Connaught Place.

Senior Ministers have also been given charge of overseeing fasts across different parts of the nation.

While Union Minister Piyush Goyal is observing the day-long fast in Maharashtra’s Thane, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria fasted with party workers.

Similarly BJP MP Lalubhai Patel in Daman and Diu constituency is holding protest fast with other party leaders while Surat MP Darshana Jardosh has also started protest fast.
