Prime Minister was welcomed on stage with the traditional jacket as well as the Madia head gear as per local culture

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the national health protection scheme from Jangla in Chhattisgarh, he also witnessed the commencement of functioning of health care and wellness center here.

Prominent amongst those present included Union Minister JP Nadda, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, National Scheduled Tribes Commission chairman Nand Kumar Sai and Parliamentarian Dinesh Kashyap apart from other ministers and party functionaries.

The Prime Minister was welcomed on stage with the traditional jacket as well as the Madia head gear as per local culture.

Both of these signify the tribal culture locally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated the Van Dhan scheme on the occasion and dedicated to the public the rail-line between Gudum and Bhanupratappur.

He also flagged the Demu train on this route.

Modi went on to inaugurate the Rs 1043 crores worth roads and bridges under the Prime Minister Rural Roads scheme.

He also laid the foundation for the high level bridge on the Indravati river.
