GROWTH RATE LOWEST IN 6 YEARS
In the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year (2019-20), the growth rate of GDP has come down to 5%. This is the lowest in 6 years. Less than 4.3% in January-March 2013. The decline in manufacturing sector activity in the last quarter had a major impact on GDP growth. Growth of the sector declined to 0.6%. January-March was 3.1%.
