Protests held outside Chennai stadium; ahead of IPL matches

With Cauvery Management Board not yet constituted, the members of the political outfits have staged protests outside Chennai’s MA Chidambaram (Chepauk) Stadium on the issue.

They were demanding formation of a Cauvery Welfare Board.

Though police intervened and detained many of the protestors.

It need be mentioned that cine star Rajinikanth has already come out support of protests for the early constitution of Cauvery Management Board.

The actor went on to say that it is embarrassing to hold cricket matches at a time like this.

He had even suggested that Chennai team ought to fight for the people.

The Chennai police has assured IPL authorities that they will provide a second layer of security as the threat of protestors turning up in large numbers looms.

Meanwhile, top Tamil film stars including Kamal Hassan joined the ongoing protest for the formation of a Cauvery Management Board (CMB) in Chennai.
