Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced that the Class X students under the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will not have to take any exams and will be promoted on the basis of their performance in the pre-Board exams.
He was addressing concerns of people on Facebook. The Chief Minister said that for the Class XI and XII students, the state will go by the decision of the Central Government.
AIR correspondent reports that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh responded to the queries and concerns of people expressed on various social media platforms over the past few days through facebook and announced the Punjab School Education Board has decided to promote students of 5th to 10th class to next standard without exams.
He said, for 10th class, the performance of Pre-Board will be considered to promote to next class. He said, he will respond to the queries of people every Friday on Facebook. CM said, he is concerned about the mental health of people locked in small houses due to curfew but these steps are needed to be taken to fight pandemics like COVID-19.
He said, of people will adhere to COVID Safety Protocols, the relaxation in curfew will be further enhanced. About migrant labourers, he said, he will not stop those, who, in this hour of crisis, want to live with their families.
