The committee appointed by Chhattisgarh High Court to look into the jaundice death of wife of Manoj Dewangan has submitted its report on the issue.
The three member committee included advocates Manoj Paranjpe, Amruto Das and Saurabh Dangi.
The two judge bench of Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice TB Radhakrishnan and Justice Sharad Gupta were briefed that jaundice has broken out in many of the areas of Raipur.
The CMHO is said to have conveyed that while there were no such cases registered in February, the number suddenly rose to 98 in March of this year.
The most affected areas include Kaapa, Naharpara, Prem Nagar, Naya Para and Sadar Bazaar.
It was also said that while district hospital of Raipur received 6 such cases of jaundice, the Ambedkar hospital registered 17 such cases.
The Court Commissioners have suggested that Secretaries of Health department and Urban Administration departments be directed to hold special medical camps in the affected areas.
They also said that it needs to be ensured that no filthy water reaches to the households through the pipelines.
The High Court has now directed the Secretaries of Health and Social Welfare Department to file their replies within three days.
The case will new be heard on April 9.>
