Raipur: On Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s instructions and after Finance Department’s approval, School Education Department has issued orders regarding appointment on 14 thousand 580 posts of teachers. Appointment orders for teachers will be issued only after State Government releases orders to open schools in state. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Baghel has directed the School Education Department to pace up the process of teachers’ recruitment and submit report in the context within a week.
Finance Department has approved the appointment of teachers under School Education Department on certain terms and conditions. The appointment order issued by the Department of School Education clearly states that ‘the appointment will be subjected to the order passed by the Hon’ble Court in any case pending or filed in future.’ Appointment orders will be issued separately for each selected candidate. The seniority of teachers in the appointment order will be in accordance with the merit list issued by Vyapam. Teachers will have a three-year probation period. The rules issued by the state government regarding the salary and other benefits payable during the probation period will apply.
Vyapam (PEB) had conducted examination for the appointment of teachers of various cadres, from the Directorate of Public Instruction, for recruitment on 14580 vacant posts of teachers of different cadres.. The results of the examination conducted by Vyapam were declared on 30 September 2019 and 22 November 2019. Appointments were to be made based on the merit list issued by Vyapam. After the Corona lockdown in March 2020, the Finance Department issued had instructions that the process of appointments in the departments would continue, but it would be necessary to obtain consent from the Finance Department before issuing the appointment order.
Accordingly, School Education Department had sent the proposal to the Finance Department for concurrence. To which, the Finance Department has approved recruitment of teachers on certain terms and conditions. Before issuing the appointment orders, in-charge officers will conduct document verification of the candidates shortlisted in the provisional selection list. Officials concerned will call the candidates to their offices for document verification. Government of India’s and State Government’s guidelines will be followed for prevention of corona infection during the document verification process.
After document verification, candidates will have to get medical fitness certificate from District Medical Board and thereafter the case concerned will be sent for police verification. Candidates who fail to get their documents verified will be disqualified and their names would be removed from the provisional selection list. After successful completion of the entire process, qualified and selected candidates will be will be issued appointment orders separately by the official concerned.
