Rajinikanth had this to say on Sabarimala temple issue

Rajinikanth said that tradition has to be followed and respected

On the Sabarimala issue, the actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth voiced his support to Supreme Court decision but also said that old traditions must be held with high regard.

This statement comes following the ongoing protests against the Supreme Court’s order to allow menstruating women between 10 to 50 years of age to enter the Sabarimala Temple.

Rajinikanth said that tradition has to be followed and respected.

It need be mentioned that women so far have not been able to enter the Sabarimala temple despite the Supreme Court okay for it.

The Supreme Court observed that it is a matter of the rights of women and there must be no discrimination on the basis of gender in the right to pray.

Despite the order, the protesters have held ground at the gates of Sabarimala to bar women from entering Lord Ayyappa’s shrine.

The gates have been open for four days today and no woman has been able to enter yet.
