Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has received a pat on back from Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The appreciation came about after major success in the naxal operations in restive area of Chhattisgarh.
Sources informed that the Home Minister called up CM Raman Singh on phone and congratulated him on major success in the offensive against the naxals.
The major success comes amid the preparations for the state election later this year in Chhattisgarh.
It need be mentioned that security forces neutralized as many as eight of the rebels in a operation.
It is suspected that at least some of them may have senior ranking naxals who have been killed.
The encounter came about in the wee hours of Thursday on the Bijapur-Dantewada border in the forests of Timenar hills.
The police claims to have downed number of naxals in the encounter.
Police have so far recovered arms and ammunition from the site of the encounter.
The police have claimed to have recovered bodies of at least three women naxals as well. >
