It is notable that Dr. Raman Singh took over the Chief Minister’s post in the year 2003, after getting the mandate in the first General Election of the Chhattisgarh assembly, for the first time on December 7, 2003, during the ceremony held at the Police Parade ground in Raipur, thousands of people took oath. Referring to the entry of the 15th year of his government, the Chief Minister said that with the widespread public support, we get strength to serve Chhattisgarh Mahatari. He said that the state should be given credit to the successive successes of various schemes and successes in different areas of development, to the working people of the state. In the last 14 years, the state government has imposed every day and every moment for working for the betterment of villages, poor and farmers and all the sections of the society in Chhattisgarh. He said – by arranging electricity for twenty-four hours, by making the country’s first food security law for the poor, giving them the right to skill upgradation, by providing facilities to interest free farm loans to farmers, by giving forest rights recognition letters to the forest dwellers and making rich and poor Chhattisgarh has earned fame in the country and the world by providing health insurance to all the families of 50 thousand rupees beyond the discrimination of the state. Meanwhile, the remuneration rate for Tendupta collectors has been increased from Rs 450 to Rs 2500. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to do this. He said – The Chhattisgarh government has given the best system of procurement of paddy at farmers’ fixed price. Four special area development authorities have been formed for the development of tribals, scheduled castes and backward classes. Victims of Naxal violence, giving free coaching to medical and engineering education, thousands of children are being given residential accommodation in five divisional headquarters of the state by making a huge education city in Dantewada district and under the Chief Minister’s Child Protection Scheme. Government is completing every basic need related to the life of the people including school education, higher education, technical education, health, irrigation, roads, communication, electricity, drinking water and government is top priority.
