Chief Minister said that people are now free to go in remote areas of the restive regions

With sudden surge witnessed in naxal incidents in Chhattisgarh over past few months, the state Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that the red rebels are frustrated at the ongoing development activities in the restive areas of the state.

He said that naxalism is nearing its end in the Chhattisgarh state and added that naxals are carrying out occasional attacks but are not in a position to face the security forces.

He admitted though that the Improvised Explosive Devices detection is a problem that needs to be addressed.

The Chief Minister said that people are now free to go in remote areas of the restive regions and that it would not have been possible only five years ago.

He also spoke of efficient coordination between state and central governments on tackling naxalism.
