Under the state-wide Lok Suraaj Abhiyan, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today paid surprise visit to village Khairkhunta (Pithora block) of Mahasamund district and attended redressal camp held there.
In the camp, Dr Singh distributed heavily subsidized solar energy irrigation pumps to farmers under State Government’s Saur Sujala Yojana.
Chief Minister addressed the people from 11 Gram Panchayats of Khairkhunta cluster namely- Kishanpur, Gopalpur, Charbhantha, Ansula, Sapos, Dongripali, Teka, Memra, Bhokaludih, and Patandadar, gathered at the camp.
He informed the villagers about government schemes and called officials on stage to provide information regarding the ongoing works in the area under these schemes. Dr Singh appealed the villagers to avail saur sujala scheme.
It is noteworthy that under this scheme, irrigation pumps of 3 horse power, worth nearly Rs 3.50 lakh, is being provided to SC/ST farmers by the state government at only Rs seven thousand, whereas farmers of OBC category are being provided these pumps at Rs 12 thousand and those of general category are being provided at Rs 18 thousand.
Under this scheme, irrigation pump of 5 horse power worth Rs 4.50 lakh is being provided to SC/ST farmers at Rs 10 thousand, to OBC farmers at Rs 15 thousand and to farmers of general category at Rs 20 thousand only.
On the occasion, Dr Singh has announced sanction of Rs 10 lakh for CC-road construction in Khairkhunta and Rs six lakh for community hall construction in Gopalpur.
He immediately sanctioned construction of overhead tank for drinking water scheme in Khairkhunta and Gopalpur, and construction of gram panchayat building in Khairkhunta. Dr Singh also announced construction of cc-road in Gopalpur. At the camp, Parliamentary Secretary and Basna MLA Mrs. Roopkumari Choudhary, panch-sarpanch and a large number of villagers were present. It was informed in the redressal camp that this year in the first phase of Lok Suraaj Abhiyan, applications were collected.
Total 1233 applications were received from villagers of 11 Gram Panchayats under Khairkhunta cluster. This included 572 applications for Prime Minister Housing Scheme, 64 for LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 163 applications for ration cards, and 87 applications for old age pension. Out of the 1233 applications received, 1217 have been redressed.>
