Delhi, after reviving from a poor start, reached 271/6 against Vidarbha on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy final. Centurion Dhruv Shorey would hope to take his team to a bigger total on Day 2.
Dhruv Shorey and Himmat Singh stitched a 105-run partnership to revive Delhi after they lost four wickets early on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha at Indore’s Holkar stadium.
Shorey remained unbeaten on 123 as the seven-time champions were 271/6 at stumps.
The 25-year-old will look to play well with tailenders and guide the team to a big total on Day 2. On the other hand, Vidarbha will hope Rajneesh Gurbani strikes early.

The right-arm fast bowler Gurbani left the field with an ankle trouble in the final session of the first day. He returned to the field after a while but did not bowl with the second new ball.
Debutant Aditya Thakare, who took the wickets of Kunal Chandela and Nitish Rana, will look to ease the pressure off Gurbani and stick to the right line and length.
On Day 1, Shorey added 105 runs off 149 balls for the fifth wicket with Himmat Singh, who produced a fluent 66 off 72 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes.>
