Veteran actress Rekha told the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday that she will be tested for the novel coronavirus. She is likely to submit her reports to the corporation on Monday. One of the actress’s security guards had tested positive for the novel coronavirus recently, after which her bungalow in Bandra had been sealed by the BMC.
An official notice had been pasted outside her residence, declaring it a containment zone. The entire area had also been sanitised.
Earlier today, Anupam Kher’s mother, Dulari, brother Raju, sister-in-law and niece had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The veteran actor shared the news on Twitter.
Last month, actor Aamir Khan had revealed that some of his staff members had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The individuals who were tested positive were quarantined immediately. Soon after, Aamir’s mother also took the test and her reports were negative.
In May, two of Karan Johar’s household staff tested positive for the novel coronavirus. In the same month, three household staff members of filmmaker Boney Kapoor were also found coronavirus positive.
Meanwhile, the number of people affected by the novel coronavirus in the country continues to soar. India has recorded more than eight lakh coronavirus cases so far. The death toll in the country has mounted to 22, 718.
