Renowned classical dancers to showcase performances in Khajuraho fest

The prestigious Khajuraho dance festival will be organized from 20th to 26th February, 2019 at Khajuraho from 7.00 p.m. in evening every day. Renowned classical dancers of the country are participating in the festival.

On the first day on February 20, Lipsa Satpathy Odissi of Delhi, Jayprabha Memon Mohini Attam and Mridusmita Das of Guhawati and companions will present dance performance in sessions.

Kuchipudi by T Reddy Laxmi of Delhi, Kathak by Neha Banarjee of Chennai, Mayurajbhanj Chhau dance by Janmajay Sai and companions will be presented on the second day on February 21.

Kathak dance Rujta Soman of Pune and Sudeshna Maulik and Sohelbhan will present kathak and Bharatnatyam mixed. Saroja Vaidyanathan and companions will present Bharatnatyam in group.

On the fourth day on February 23, Bharatnatyam by S Vasudevan of Delhi, Kathak and Bharatnatya mixed by Shalini Khare of Jabalpur, Bhilai and Ratish Babu, and Odissi dance by Ratikant Mahapatra of Bhuvenshwar and companion will be presented.

Kathak dancer of Delhi, Durga Arya, Mom Ganguli of Kolkata (Mohani Attam) and Kathak group of Gwalior Manav Mahant and companions will give performance on February 24.

Rahul Acharya of Bhuvneshwar will present Odissi and Bhaswati Mishra and companion will present kathak, and Prabal Gupta and Arnab Upadhyay of Kolkata will present Kathakali and Odissi mixed dance on February 25.

On the concluding day on February 26, Snigdha Venkataramni will present Bharatnatyam; Bimbavati Devi of Kolkata will give performance of Manipuri group dance and Mangala Bhatta and Kavita Dwivedi of Hyderabad and Delhi will present mixed kathak and Odissi.

Entry is open without fee in the seven-day dance festival organised by Department of Culture in collaboration with Ustad Allauddin Khan Academy of Music and Arts and Cultural Council.
