RERA chief addresses media; heres what he said about real estate dealings
Former Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, who recently assumed charge of Real Estate Regulatory Authority, said that RERA act is quite comprehensive and equips the buyers against any blatant violations of the builders.
He said that people intending to sell buildings by building in over 500 sq mt plot need to register themselves with the RERA.
Dhand said that such constructions will be monitored by RERA till the sale of property.
He also clarified that those undertaking constructions in less than 500 sq mt area but more than eight shops, flats or even warehouses also would be monitored by RERA.
He said that RERA is getting its own website and software built through CHiPS and is expected to be ready within a fortnight’s time.
He said that even the agents engaged in selling and buying of buildings and plots would require to get themselves registered. Initially, they would be registered for five years duration and then the registration would be renewed.
It was also informed that RERA decision could be challenged in special tribunal and subsequently in state high court. >
