The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has now decided to invite Nobel Peace Prize winner and social activist Kailash Satyarthi.
This comes after the organization had earlier extended invite to likes of former president Pranab Mukherjee and business tycoon Ratan Tata.
As per details available, the Nobel laureate has been given an invitation by the RSS to attend the Vijayadashami (Dussehra) function as chief guest.
The event will take place in the Reshmibagh Maidan here on October 18.
The event is an annual affair where RSS chief (currently Mohan Bhagwat) addresses the workers.
In his last year’s address, RSS chief Bhagwat had touched upon various issues like cow vigilantism and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
It may be noted that Satyarthi’s organisation is involved in rescuing children who have been forced into illegal labour and trafficking.
Amid speculation whether the RSS had consciously chosen a non-political face to be the chief guest at this year’s Vijayadashami function in view of the General Elections next year.>
