As the cross platform messaging app Telegram is said to have refused to give access to its users’ secret messages, the Russian state communications watchdog is now contemplating filing a lawsuit.
The lawsuit will be to limit the access to the Telegram messaging app.
Telegram is currently the ninth most popular mobile messaging app across the world.
It is also very popular in countries of former Soviet Union and Middle East.
It is said that while the active users of the app is already crossed 200 million, the app allows users to communicate via encrypted messages and it cannot be read by third parties including government authorities.
Telegram has refused to comply with Russian state security agency’s demands of providing access.>
