Amid all talks of alliance between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party,
the SP veteran and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav expressed his wish for Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister once again.
This comes even as two parties are to contest on 38 seats each from Uttar Pradesh against BJP.
The statement is not likely to go down well with his son and SP national president Akhilesh Yadav who on January 12 announced an alliance with BSP in Uttar Pradesh – leaving Congress with only Rae Bareli and Amethi in the state.
PM Modi in his speech on Lok Sabha Wednesday thanked Mulayam Singh Yadav for his support.
Meanwhile, Congress national president Rahul Gandhi, while at a press conference in New Delhi said he disagrees with SP patriarch but respects his opinion. “Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji has a role in politics and I respect his opinion,” he said.
