The now marginalized and jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala has sought a 15-day parole to be able to attend the final rites of her husband Natarajan Maruthappa, who passed away.

Sasikala is lodged in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case.

She will most likely travel to husband’s native village in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu for the final rites.

The ailing husband Maruthappa passed away at the age of 76 at Gleneagles Global Health City Hospital in Chennai only last night.

His death came about due to multiple organ failures.

Even Natarajan was a Tamil activist and was also running a vernacular magazine called ‘Puthiya Paarvai’.
