Scribe Verma sent to judicial custody till Nov 13; heres what happened in court
Chhattisgarh police produced senior scribe Vinod Verma before court after his three day remand term expired on October 31.
The police did not ask for further remand of the scribe, who had been arrested in case of possession of ‘sex tape’ that allegedly also involves a sitting Minister of Chhattisgarh.
Thus the court of sent the scribe Vinod Verma to 14 days custody which would end on November 13. This even as the scribe’s advocates urged for bail of their client.
However, the scribe made the request that he should not be kept with other undertrials which the court accepted. Vinod Verma also told the court that he was subjected to any kind of torture during remand term.
It need be mentioned that the ‘sex tape’ controversy had brought about a boil in the state polity and is said to have been leaked into public domain ahead of next year’s assembly election.>
