A joint squad of local police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested an ultra carrying cash reward and a naxal couple also surrendered before security personnel in insurgency-hit Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Following a tip-off, a team comprised of local police and CRPF personnel today arrested a cadre of banned organization identified as Baman Mandavi (25) allegedly involved in Mailwada blast, police said, adding that the arrested insurgent was carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh.
The 25-year-old cadre was allegedly involved in various naxal incidents including Mailwada blast, murder, loot, arson and other crimes.
In another case, citing disappointment with naxal ideology, a naxal couple carrying reward surrendered before police.
“The surrendered couple has been identified as Dinesh Kadati (26) and Meena alias Lakho (25),” said police.
Shedding more information about surrendered couple, police said that in 2005, Dinesh Kadati (when studying in class 8th) came in contact with some cadres and joined the outlawed organization. Initially, Dinesh was working in medical team under Gangaloor area committee, later he was transferred as Pedia LOS and eventually, he was entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening DAKMS. Currently, 26-year-old cadre, who was carrying cash reward of Rs 3 lakh, was working as president of DAKMS and engaged with work of military intelligence.
After being inducted into the banned organization in 2004, Meena worked in different capacities and tied nuptial knot with Dinesh in 2009, informed police, adding that she was carrying Rs 1 lakh in her head.
The surrendered couple was involved in various crimes including attack on helicopter, targeting Gangaloor-based relief camp and other.
