Self Styled Godman Asaram has been pronounced as guilty for the rape of 16-yr-old school girl.

The girl had been brought to the Asaram’s ashram in Jodhpur.

The administration had tightened to security ahead of the verdict to prevent any violence from the supporters of the self-styled Godman who run into lakhs.

The verdict comes five years after he was arrested.

It need be mentioned that four states – Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat -were put on high alert ahead of the rape case verdict.

Asaram, who has 400 ashrams across the world, raped the young girl in 2013.

He is also accused, along with his son, Narayan Sai, of raping two sisters in Surat in Gujarat between 2002 and 2004.

Asaram was arrested in Indore in Madhya Pradesh for the Jodhpur case and moved to jail in the desert city. He appealed 12 times for bail but was turned down each time.

The minimum sentence he faces is 10 years in prison; the maximum is life sentence.
