Amid embarrassment of an MLA being accused of gang rape, the incumbent Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government now faces another embarrassment in that one of its own Ministerhas on record criticized the party’s rule in the state.
This is amid the ongoing barrage of complaints against the Chief Minister himself that he has been ignoring the Dalit leaders of his own party as well.
A senior ranking cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh government Swami Prasad Maurya is now known to have stated that Mayawati’s rule was better than that of Yogi Adityanath.
He was referring to the Unnao rape case and added that there would have been no need for a CBI probe in the Unnao case if the police had done its bit.
It need be mentioned that Maurya himself has been in the Mayawati’s party Bahujan Samaj Party.
Replying to another question, Maurya lauded BSP chief Mayawati’s regime saying it was “good” and there were no second thoughts about it.
Apparently the Maurya’s remarks were triggered by a question on the law and order situation in UP as compared to the time when Mayawati was at the helm.>
