Sensational Punjab jailbreak; police guns down gangster Vicky

It was one of the most sensational jailbreaks of the time and six prisoners escaped at the time from Patiala’s Nabha high-security jail in Punjab on 27 November, 2016.

It need be mentioned that the state police gunned down one of the escapees, also Punjab’s most wanted gangster — Vicky Gounder and the mastermind behind the jailbreak Prema Lahoria.

The encounter took place in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district.

It need be recalled that Gounder was among the six prisoners including terrorists Harminder Singh Mintoo and Kashmir Singh and gangsters Aman Dhothian, Gurpreet Sekhon and Neeta Deol who went at large after near dozen armed men stormed the high-security Nabha Jail.

Gounder alias Harjinder Singh Bhullar had been bone of contention for the Punjab Police and it is said that police was close to apprehending him but he fled the spot timely.
