Sensex, Nifty log modest losses in intra-day trade

The Sensex and Nifty today logged modest losses in intra-day trade even as the Asian peers were positive. The BSE Sensex was trading 177 points, or 0.34 percent, down at 51,153 and the NSE Nifty fell 43 points, or 0.28 percent, to trade at 15,067.

At the forex market the rupee appreciated five paise to 72 rupees and 83 paise against the US dollar.
