Days after sentenced for life imprisonment, the self-styled godman Asaram is said to have recorded an audio clip for his lakhs of followers and disciples.
Serving his life term in Jodhpur jail, the audio has now surfaced online.
The convicted Asaram is said to be heard telling a person over the phone that his time behind bars is ephemeral and eventually good days will come.
According to Jodhpur Central Jail DIG Vikram Singh, the 15-minute audio clip might have been recorded during a telephone conversation Asaram had on Friday.
Asaram is currently sentenced him to life in prison for raping a teenage girl in his ashram five years ago.
The call was made with permission from jail authorities.
In what appears to be a one-way communication which appeared like a telephonic sermon, Asaram first extended his gratitude to his followers for maintaining calm and not coming to Jodhpur on the day of judgment.
He is also heard saying that a few people are on a campaign to defame his ashram and want to take its control.
At the end of the conversation, he makes Sharat speak, who says there’s nothing to be worried about in the jail.>
