Shaw Becomes Second Youngest to Score Test Ton, Century on Debut, Watch

Century on Debut! Shaw Becomes Second-Youngest to Score Test Ton.

A debut at 18. A century on debut.

Prithvi Shaw continues his fairytale story becoming the second-youngest Indian, after Sachin Tendulkar, to reach the three-figure mark in Test cricket.

He became the 293rd cricketer to represent India in Tests and showed supreme confidence from ball one, on which he offered a watchful leave.

The youngster punched the second ball he faced towards the cover boundary for a three, his first runs in international cricket, easing whatever nerves were left inside him.

Handed his debut cap by skipper Virat Kohli at the start of the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot, Shaw opened the innings with KL Rahul and reached his half century off 56 balls, becoming the youngest Indian opener to score a fifty.

Joined by Cheteshwar Pujara at the other end, Shaw continued to score at a brisk pace and reached the three figure mark off 99 deliveries.
