The Shikshakarmis awaiting a concrete reply from the Chhattisgarh government on the issue of their merger with the education department have to wait some more.
This is because the the state government has extended the tenure of the committee that had been constituted to study the issues of Shikshakarmis by another month.
It was also informed that the government has even constituted a team of officials to study the Rajasthan model on the Shikshakarmis.
The committee will submit its report to the state government post their study.
It need be mentioned that the Shikshakarmis have been hopeful of positive response to their demands from the state government ever since the Madhya Pradesh government has taken the initiative in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Shikshak Panchayat Nagriya Niakay Morcha state President Virendra Dubey said that with merger decision not yet announced, the Shikshakarmis are aggrieved to say the least.
He said that they have submitted relevant information regarding Shikshakarmis of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to the state government already.
He added that sending in a team of officers to Rajasthan to study the issues of Shikshakarmis there is at best a waste of time and could also be delaying tactic.>
